Most opener problems turn out to be something small. Safety sensors knocked out of line, a remote that has lost its programming, a travel limit that needs setting again. Some are a worn-out motor or gear.
We repair openers and install new ones, including wall buttons, remotes and outdoor keypads. When the sensors are the problem we line them up and test the auto-reverse so the door stops for a child, a pet or a bumper.
If you are replacing a door, it is worth asking about the opener at the same visit. An old opener set up for a different door is a common reason a brand new door runs badly.
